Max Partlo Memorial Tournament Tillsonburg
The Anderson Appliance team traveled to Tillsonburg on Friday to kick off their final tournament of the year and South Huron was the first opponent.  It took a half period to get going but Ingersoll dominated the game winning 10-0.  #14 Dylan Craib and #15 Logan Pare had Hat Tricks and #10 Kian Brown lead the team with 4 assists.  #9 Noah Muller was back in the line up and he added 2 goals with #6 Kylah Demers and #19 Tanner Belore adding a goal a piece.  #5  Riley Vyse was solid in net and posted the shut out.  A great way to start off the weekend!

The next opponent was the Dresden #1 team and that game was not as easy as the first.  Ingersoll came out flat and the Dresden team dominated the early play.  Goalie #5 Riley Vyse did a great job stopping two early break aways but Dresden's #7 Charlie Vandamme scored on the third try and put his team up early.  The score remained that way until Dresden's #7 scored twice more in the second period put his team up by 3 and Ingersoll was deep in hole.  Ingersoll quickly answered with 2 goals before the horn sounded to end the period and the score was now 3-2.  The Dresden sniper #7 went back on the scoresheet with 2 more goals in the third period giving him 5 on the afternoon and again Ingersoll was had to claw back being down 5-2.  It was not looking good as the time ran quickly off the clock but the Anderson Appliance did got a goal back with 3:25 on the scoreboard.  Down by 2 goals now it was all offence and again Ingersoll scores with 1:17 left to go.  Now it's time to pull the goalie and Riley made his way to find a seat on the bench.  Needing a goal to tie #9 Noah Muller took a pass from #14 Dylan Craib to score with 33 seconds left in the game.  Great come back Ingersoll!  The game ended in a tie.
Saturday morning featured a game vs. Tillsonburg #2 and it was a pretty even match on the ice.  Both teams played well defensively the goalies where sharp. #14 Dylan Craib continued his scoring streak and banged in 2 goals for Ingersoll.  The game was tight and Ingersoll did a great job clearing the zone and helping Riley out between the pipes.  The score remained 2-0 through the third period and Ingersoll was victorious to move on to the semi-finals.  Great job team!
Sunday morning was the game of the weekend with the top 2 teams meeting up in the semi-finals.  The game was a rematch of the Inter County league season finals with Ingersoll's Anderson Appliance meeting Tillsonburg #1.  The arena was packed for the early morning game and the fans gave both teams a roaring applause as they skated on to the ice.  The score remained tied for the first period as both goalies looked great making nice saves at both ends of the ice.  Ingersoll got on the scoreboard first halfway through the second period when #14 Dylan Craib jammed it in at the side of the net and put his team up by a goal.  #10 Kian Brown and #7 Carson Ling added an assist.  Great effort from the whole line to keep the puck in and get some shots on net. Tillsongburg answered back on a breakaway with a great shot over the shoulder and into the top of the net.  Again the score was tied and we head to the third period.  Ingersoll took the lead again at 10:25 when #9 Noah Muller scored a goal with #12 Marshall Karmaris and #6 Kylah Demers getting the assists.  The crowd exploded when the ref signalled the puck crossed the line and the players received a standing ovation.  There was still lots of time on the clock and Ingersoll had to keep pressing.  Tillsonburg was trailing now and the team did a great job of out working the Anderson crew to get to open pucks.  The hard work paid off with a tying goal for Tillsonburg and again we are going to overtime.  Overtime in this tournament is set as 3 on 3 for 5 minutes.  With lots of open ice there should be a goal early to end this game.  The coaches picked there players and the ref dropped the puck.  Both teams struggled to move the puck around and the goalies made the saves on the few shots that made it to the net.  With the only opportunity to change players was "on the fly" both teams made some interesting line changes as the puck was dropped to get around the rule.  The 5 minute period didn't last long and the horn sounded to signal a shoot out!  Ingersoll was up first and the puck went just wide.  Tillsonburg now had a chance to win but #5 Riley Vyse made the save to give his team another chance.  Ingersoll tried again but the shot couldn't by the goalie so the pressure was back on Ingersoll's goalie.  Riley stepped up and made a great save with the shoulder!  Again, Ingersoll had a chance at the winning goal but it sailed wide of the net and Tillsonburg was back in the drivers seat.  The shooter came down the ice and the puck slid forward toward the net.  The player retrieved the puck and snapped it through the 5 hole to seal the victory.  Tough break Riley, you can't stop the all.  It was a great tournament Ingersoll and every player should be proud!
